The HR Operations Officer is part of the HR Connections (HRC) team at Lumentum.

This is a hybrid role and you'll be required to be on site in Caswell for a minimum 2 days per week.

This role is the first point of contact for an employee who seeks information or raises an enquiry related to their employment life cycle, Benefits and HR policies and procedures.

**Responsibilities**:

- Being the first point of contact for all new hires and coordinating their on-boarding process
- Ensuring that paper and electronic employee files are up to date, all data necessary to ensure legal compliance is in order, for example documents confirming employee’s eligibility to be employed in the EMEA region.
- Serve as an escalation point for shared services support as needed. Maintain detailed knowledge of HR service areas and answer employee enquiries pertaining to HR programs, processes, procedures, and communications.
- Process Workday HCM activities in an accurate and timely manner.
- Maintain documentation and streamline processes. Maintain records related to human resources activities, policy changes, or additions.
- Assist with formulation, implementation and administration of human resources programs, policies and practices.
- Conduct audits, research, data gathering and analysis, provide reports and/or manage small to medium assigned projects.
- Conduct termination interviews, providing feedback to HR management when requested.
- Conduct new hire orientation presentations and assist with coordinating other on-boarding programs. Monitor and follow-up on completion of onboarding tasks such as policy acknowledgement and recordkeeping to meet audit requirements.
- Must maintain confidentiality about employee data, including business information that is not available to non-HR employees.

Experience/Skills:

- Knowledge of general human resources practices.
- Experience of Workday HCM, either first hand experience or as an HR end-user. Being familiar with set-up process is desirable.
- Experience with data entry into Workday or other HR database required.
- Bachelor degree in related field or equivalent expertise required.
- MS Office Suite experience, emphasis on Workday, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Work independently as well as within a team.
- Professional and customer focused approach, including some discretion and sensitivity handling confidential matters and information. Must be able to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization.
