The Home Office covers three systems: Homeland Security, Public Safety and Borders, and Immigration and Citizenship. These systems work collaboratively to deliver our cross-cutting priorities, whilst providing increasingly efficient and secure services for the public. These are difficult areas that can rapidly change in the global environment we work in - this makes us one of the most exciting and stimulating government departments in which to work.
**As a **Finance Business Partner **your main responsibilities would be**:
- Deliver management accounting services for a programme or projects within a programme
- Account to the Senior Programme Accountant for the quality of the management accounting services provided
- Continually improve the performance of the management accounting service
- Take responsibility for specific contracts within the Home Office. Embed the end to end contract financial management framework to ensure delivery of contractual financial obligations; forecast and support the effective utilisation of contract funds
- Providing financial oversight including implementation of the corporate system of financial control and ensuring workstream financial controls are efficient and effective
Responsibility for accurate financial reporting
**Essential Requirements**:
- Experience and ability to demonstrate wide knowledge of public sector finance, including treasury guidance
- Technical accounting transactional experience
- SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role; as a minimum you must be eligible and willing to undergo these checks
**Desirable Requirements**:
- Qualified accountant /Part-Qualified (CIPFA, CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
- Active SC Clearance- Please be aware that this role can only be worked within the UK and not Overseas._
