The Role:
We are currently recruiting for a diligent Accounts Payable Lead to support our Finance team on a full-time basis. You will work autonomously, processing ledger and expense transactions, whilst maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the InspHire and Sage 200 PL system.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Review invoices to ensure they are appropriately authorised and coded.
- Ensure the AP clerk has clearly defined tasks on a weekly basis
- Monitor correct authorisation and coding of expense claims.
- Working knowledge of VAT regulations to ensure accurate input VAT recovery.
- Prepare and review BACS runs and ad-hoc payments.
- Ensure supplier statements are reconciled regularly.
- Provide analysis on the profile of the purchase ledger.
- Ensure the integrity of purchase ledger system.
- Monitor the ledger for debit balances and duplicate payments.
- Ensure supplier set up procedures are followed - new vendors & bank detail verifications etc.
- Ensure all internal controls are adhered to.
- Respond to supplier queries in the AP mailbox in a timely manner.
- Update the accruals list for month end.
- Undertake ad-hoc financial projects as the need arises.
- Liaising with purchase requisitioners on delivery of goods.

Qualifications and experience:

- AAT qualified or qualified by experience in a similar role.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel - pivot tables & vlookups desirable.

The Person:
You will need an eye for detail and be excellent at integrating with a new team, you will also need to have previous experience within a similar role. You will have the ability to work on your own initiative where required and have good organisational and communication skills. Previous experience in supervising staff would be a distinct advantage.

This role will be based out of the St Helens office therefore, you will need to live within a commutable distance to that location, hybrid working is also available.
In addition to the salary, you will automatically be eligible for the company bonus scheme.
