Knavesmire Primary School is an outstanding Primary school based in the South Bank area of York. We are looking to recruit a school administration officer to join our small friendly school office team.
- Permanent contract;
- Term Time Plus 1 Week;
- 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 3.30pm
No two days are the same in this busy and rewarding role, duties include:
- Providing office support to parents, staff and children
- Being responsible for nursery funding and admissions as well as main school admissions
- Arranging cover for absences as required and maintaining absence records
- Keeping computer databases up to date with safeguarding information
- Collecting and inputting schools data such as school census information
- Managing the school’s MIS system and school website
- Being ready to learn and implement other administrative tasks that are required
Desired skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft office packages and school systems such as Parentpay, MIS etc.
- A knowledge of safeguarding

- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- To have a good level of initiative and a willingness to learn
- Flexible, enthusiastic, ‘can do’ approach to everyday work
- Open to change and new ideas
- An ability to work well under pressure
- Willingness to take responsibility and use your own initiative

- To be well organised with the ability to prioritise tasks
