The Trust is looking to recruit to the Contract Information Data Officer position within the Strategic Finance Team. We are seeking to appoint a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual, committed to the improvement of data quality, with experience of NHS Trust Patient Administration Systems.

As a member of the Strategic Finance Team, you will assist in ensuring compliance with data quality processes and procedures, and in ensuring that the quality of data is sufficient to meet all internal and National Standard Information requirements.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate a sound knowledge and understanding of NHS data definitions and requirements for the accurate recording of Patient Administration data and a sound knowledge of NHS Hospital Patient Administration Systems principles and functions. This role involves interaction with a wide range of stakeholders within the Trust, and therefore the ability to work collaboratively and under pressure is essential.
The Finance Directorate actively promotes training and development within the team, across the Trust and externally. We have developed a comprehensive finance education strategy and hold Level 3 accreditation in Towards Excellence and Future Focussed Finance. We are an active member of the Finance Skills Development Network, Future Focussed Finance, and the Towards Excellence scheme. The post holder will also have access to training and development opportunities through the Digital Services Team. As a Strategic Finance Team, we also have embedded a culture of strong teamwork and promoting change to continually work more efficiently.
Data Quality is an on-going Trust objective which supports all performance and Cancer targets. The Data Quality team carry out an essential role in ensuing that all Trust reporting is accurate.
Data Quality is formal part of the Health Care Commissioner Performance framework and it is essential that the Trust has an on-going Data Quality work programme aspects across the Trust
To assist the Senior Information Officer in ensuring the accurate, consistent and timely recording of all data within the Careflow Patient Administration System (PAS) function.
Working with the appropriate Information Officers and Systems Managers, ensure the consistency and accuracy of data across all the Trust’s major Patient based/Clinical Information Systems.
To validate and correct Careflow PAS data in preparation for the completion of statutory returns as relating to Data Quality, ensuring all work is completed in line with the required timescales. Working in collaboration with other staff in the Information Department as appropriate.
As a Contracted information, Costing & Income department team member, to assist in ensuring the quality of the data is sufficient to meet all the Trust and National Standard Information requirements.
To work across the Trust in conjunction with Division and Department leads and members of staff responsible for data collection, ensuring that they adhere to all the data quality policies and procedures.
To assist in the implementation of action plans and periodical audits and report any issues highlighted by the validation of data extracts to the Senior Information Officer.
To provide support and guidance to all users of Careflow PAS and the National Strategic Tracing Service (NSTS) as required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1) To Use the NSTS on-line patient tracing function in the investigation, retrieval and validation of Trust master patient index demographic details.
a. To use the NSTS Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) Batch Trace in tandem with the Careflow PAS NSTS Export and Upload functions on a weekly basis to validate and produce Data Quality reports on the Trust’s NHS number coverage.
2) To run a weekly death report ensuring deceased patient notifications are recorded on the Careflow PAS system and relevant patient pathways updated.
a. Provide advice on complex Data Quality matters. This will involve assisting in the development of training packages and communication with all Clinical Divisions and operational staff.
b. To be responsible for the resolution of Careflow PAS system functionality queries highlighted by Data Quality processes.
c. To be responsible for the update of Master Files within Careflow PAS
d. (E.g. GP, CCG, Postcodes etc.)
e. To be responsible for recording homecare appointment and outcomes in Careflow
4) Using knowledge and experience to work in conjunction with all Clinical Divisions and operational staff to ensure that accurate and timely data is recorded.
