Deputy Payroll Manager - £55,000 - £60,000 + strong benefits - City of London.

Frazer Jones are delighted to be partnering with a leading retail bank on the recruitment of a Deputy Payroll Manager on a permanent basis.

This role will be coming in and supporting the head of Payroll in team management and day to day running of the UK end to end payrolls.

Our client is offering hybrid working 3 days per week required to be in the office.

The Role:

- To assist with managing the payroll department's day-to-day work to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the payroll service for 3,000 employees.
- Run the main payrun process for five payrolls each month (including a Directors and IR35 Contractors payroll), plus a mid-month expenses payrun, including the BACS process
- Responsible for RTI submissions to HMRC for all payrolls
- To run, reconcile and post the payroll costs on a monthly basis
- Manage various month end tasks including Pension payments, PAYE payments to HMRC, ad-hoc payments to external bodies
- Undertake monthly Childcare voucher process including payment to provider, managing information uploads to provider portal plus re-assessment of earnings each tax year
- Manage Cycle to Work process
- Supervise the maintenance of the Employee Self Service System and Manager Self Service.
- Work with HR teams on improvements to HR / Payroll software
- Produce monthly and ad-hoc reports for the Bank's Finance team
- Assist the Payroll Manager with external and internal audit.
- Together with the Payroll Manager plan the work for payroll department for the coming year.
- First point of contact for payroll officers to assist with complex problem solving on legislative and system issues
- Responsible for producing HMRC Year End submissions; plus assisting Payroll Manager with P11d's, PSA and Form 42s
- Involvement with projects as part of the Bank's HR Business Plan
- Assist UK Operations and Payroll Manager with management of Expat tax
- Assists payroll manager with the annual salary review process, year-end processes and upgrading of the payroll/HR system.
- Partners with Benefits Team in maintaining benefits processing with payroll.
- Actively promotes and ensures adherence to the Bank's Risk Management framework (including sub-frameworks) and relevant risk and compliance policies and procedures, ensuring timely and appropriate escalation of concerns to relevant senior stakeholders.

Skills required:

- Strong end to end UK payroll knowledge.

- CIPP qualification
