**Commissioning Officer - 2 positions available**

This is an exciting opportunity to join the North & East or Central Locality Commissioning Team and to work with us and partner organsiations on delivering our shared objective of ensuring that people in Cornwall receive the right care, in the right place and at the right time. As a Commissioning Officer you will be expected to work independently, take responsibility for complex intelligence relating to specific projects and take a creative approach to stimulating a diverse market.

The Commissioning Team sits within the Operational Team in the Adult Care and Wellbeing Directorate. The team is responsible for the day to day operational commissioning of a wide portfolio of contracts including home care and supported lifestyles, day services, care homes and prevention services. Key tasks include analysing data and information, considering available resources, planning services to meet need, purchasing services and reviewing provision.

The Commissioning Team work with partners to meet local needs, through market shaping activities and supply management. Services are designed to meet the eligible care needs of people in Cornwall, as well as preventing or delaying needs from developing or increasing. The services provided ensure that the statutory duties of the Council are met and contracts are robustly managed to ensure that they are performing in accordance with contractual obligations and are delivering value for money.

You will also be expected to support and lead elements of engagement with partner organisations and stakeholders as part of your day to day activities. A positive attitude and the ability to prioritise and work in a responsive manner is essential.

The role holder will need to be able to work independently, take responsibility for complex intelligence relating to specific projects and take a creative approach to stimulating a diverse market. This will include supporting an increasing focus on how we coproduce services with service users and communities.

This is a public/customer-facing role, where the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers applies.
