Senior Business Analyst

**About the role**

This is a unique opportunity to join the team that puts data at the heart of IGD’s commercial products, ensuring that all of our products are underpinned best in class, business critical and easy to use data.

You will be key in helping us to exceed our customers’ needs in delivering high quality, accurate, timely insight and forecasting.

You’ll have worked with data related products and teams, and already enjoy shaping requirements, developing products, project management and building great internal and external customer relationships.

**The responsibilities**

Working closely with the Commercial and Data team, and cross functionally with other teams to deliver their commitments. These include:
**IGD’s Retail Analysis Datacentre**

You’ll ensure effective planning and ways of working within the Data team so that they deliver against their wider commitments as a centre of excellence.

You will lead the team’s direct interaction with customers through the Ask IGD service, data promotion opportunities and website developments, continuously identifying and delivering improvements.

Through organising the delivery of our reforecasting cycles, you’ll ensure the Data Team and retail insight analyst team move through our annual process effectively.

And, through identifying and unlocking barriers, you’ll drive the inclusion of data in content across the Retail Insight team. You will ensure the data team can deliver relevant guidance, training, analytical tools and models to fully support our insightanalysts.

**IGD’s Market Track Schemes**

You will lead the delivery of our unique weekly sales benchmarking schemes. This includes building and developing trusted relationships with participant members, working with them to identify potential enhancements to the service and to bring consensus arounddecisions.

You will be responsible for budgeting, and delivering service improvements, including new software releases, managing the internal delivery team and third-party relationships involved in this process.

**Bespoke data-driven content & Solutions projects**

You’ll identify new opportunities for the data team to add value across our commercial products and ensure the effective planning of work cross-functionally on large scale projects. You will carry out research and build business cases, drawing support fromacross IGD.

Working with the wider commercial insight team, you will drive increased use of IGD’s proprietary data in our deliveries, enhancing their commercial value.

**What you bring**
- You will be well-practiced at solving complex problems
- A track record in leading project teams or managing others, and in managing external relationships, able to demonstrate that you can operate and deliver consistently to a high standard
- Ideally with experience in the food and grocery industry, working for a retailer, manufacturing or consulting business in a research or analytical capacity
- And relevant experience in the development of data products / tools as a service and shaping development plans
- You’ll also have an understanding of Agile ways of working and be proficient at project planning
- Adept in Excel and BI tools (preferably PowerBI)
- Preferably with a numerate degree-level qualification
- Experience of budgeting is desirable
- Plus, experience of effectively presenting content to internal and external audiences
- You’ll have a strategic outlook and an awareness of the bigger picture; a broad perspective for identifying solutions; tracking competitors to shape well-grounded development plans
- You’ll have a truly collaborative approach, with the ability to energise and motivate others, from seeking customer input to support your decision making, to actively developing your internal & external network
- And you will be interested in a team management career path, able to train and mentor others

**The location**

You will be based at our head office in Letchmore Heath, Watford, Hertfordshire.

We are operating a hybrid approach to working with a mix of home and office-based working. We are based in a very accessible location within the M25, just 20 miles from central London.
