HG Gladwell & Sons have been trading from Copdock Mill near Ipswich for over 100 years. This family owned company is now one of the largest independent manufacturers, wholesalers and distributors in the South East of England. Our Head Office and flagship stores are based in Suffolk, East Anglia, with another 8 retail stores spread across Kent, Essex, Suffolk and Northamptonshire.

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our late team who is willing to work in a small team of people and is able to use their own initiative when needed.

**Based at**:Copdock Mill, Copdock, Ipswich, IP8 3LA.

**Position reports into**:Late Shift Supervisor and Warehouse Manager.

**Hours**:14:00 to 22:00 with a half hour paid break, overtime to be agreed in advance.£110 Shift bonus per week.

**Job Purpose**: To work in our warehouse assisting with goods-in and goods-out operations across all warehouse areas.

**You will need a certain level of fitness as our products are in bags or boxes, which weigh up to approximately 25Kg.**

Key Responsibilities:

- Accurately process orders for receipt or delivery.
- Ensure all established procedures are adhered to.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships and communicate and liaise verbally with co-workers, supervisors and managers to optimise department performance.
- Maintain regular, consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance and adherence to relevant Health and Safety procedures.

Duties include but are not exclusive:

- Ability to cover all aspects of yard man duties, including loading and unloading of vehicles.
- Processing paperwork accurately.
- Order picking for main warehouse and mezzanine floor areas.
- Goods received for main warehouse and mezzanine floor areas.
- Pre-start checks on forklifts and order picker trucks.
- Maintenance of hygiene in the department.
- Communicating with other departments as necessary.

Essential Skills:

- Must be numerate and literate as will be working from written instructions.
- Reach and Counterbalance forklift truck certificates are required.
- Excellent attention to detail is required as mistakes are costly to rectify.
- Ability to work under your own initiative is important.

Own transport is desirable, as the site is not well served by public transport.
