The role would suit a well organised, dedicated person with excellent prioritisation skills, who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and would like to make a difference to cancer patients' experience. You will work within the Cancer Services Team, and also closely within the Rapid Referral Office. Being a team player is essential as well as being individually motivated, with an ability to show initiative and an eye for detail.

The successful applicant will become a key player in processing two week wait cancer referrals that are received into the Trust, liaising with GP surgeries, clinicians and various other teams throughout the day to ensure the running of the service, and tracking patients through their cancer pathways ensuring they meet the treatment targets.

**Application should be made in line the job description and some preparation for the interview is necessary**
- Using a variety of computer systems to process two week wait referrals for a number of specialties;
- Extracting salient data from referrals and take prompt action as required;
- Working to achieve the National Cancer Waiting Times, especially the two week wait standard;
- Being confident in liaising daily with various teams, including secondary care clinicians and GPs, to ensure the running of the service and patients getting booked in to an appropriate appointment;
- Having outstanding communication skills and ability to confidently manage difficult conversations;
- Having the ability to adapt to changing situations and working to deadlines, including responding to changes driven by the COVID-19 pandemic;
- Ability to speak with patients when required, acting professionally and being mindful of data confidentiality
- Excellent initiative and proactivity, with an ability to problem solve as well as suggest new and improved ways of working
