**THIS ROLE CAN BE BASED IN MILAN, MADRID, LONDON, PARIS, DUSSELDORF**

The Corporate Communications Principal EMEA will develop innovative and impactful corporate communications content and campaigns to further strengthen the company’s reputation as a leading healthcare company in the region. This person will collaborate closely with internal partners in marketing, sales, market access and global corporate communications, as well as manage PR agencies to deliver real business results and elevate the profile of the company in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). This role reports to the EMEA Corporate Communications Snr. Manager and is based at one of our main European offices.

**Responsibilities**
- Develop, plan, and drive execution of **corporate communications plans** to support regional business objectives and divisional priorities through media, social, leadership and employee communications, aligned with global & regional communications strategy.
- With a deep knowledge of the corporate story, **ensure consistency of brand and message across channels and spokespeople**. Maintain **calendar of opportunities**.
- **Source, create, edit and publish compelling stories** about Boston Scientific, our values and our people through internal and external channels.
- As a business partner, **work closely with stakeholders** to understand the business and provide **strategic counsel** as needed to protect and strengthen the company’s reputation.
- Manage schedule of **EMEA media activities** and organise work of PR agency & freelance resources, in close alignment with global teams. Act as **point of contact for journalists** and develop relationship with key media outlets.
- Proactively **manage issues that arise**, preparing and supporting effective spokespeople and co-ordinating our response.
- Own the **divisional internal communications eco-system** and advise on evolution of content, channels, frequency mix for maximum impact..
- Using a data driven approach**, evaluate impact of communications** activities and proactively uses insights to improve future campaigns / strengthen internal partnerships
- Secure and co-ordinate a **budget.**:

- Manage **comms vendors** to ensure consistency, quality, value and innovation in their approach.
- As senior member of the corporate communications team, **coach **internal partners and junior team members, eg intern, as needs arise.
- Champion **innovation and continuous improvement**; leading team and process improvement projects as part of EMEA Corp Comms team.

**Job requirements**
- Excellent written, oral and visual communication skills required
- Degree in communications or related discipline
- Fluency in English essential, and in one other EMEA language highly desirable
- Broad experience of managing complex communications environment essential, ideally with some pan-European/regional or international experience.
- Experience of healthcare industry preferred from either agency or corporate setting (eg MedTech, pharma, hospital, PR agency specialising in health)
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Demonstrated success at working under deadlines with excellent follow-through skills
- Located at one of our hub (main) offices (Ratingen, Germany; Paris, France; Hemel Hempstead, UK&l Madrid, Spain; & Kerkrade, the Netherlands)
- 20-30% travel is anticipated with this role, mainly within European region to major congresses and Boston Scientific offices.
