Regional Pathology Project Support Officer

An exciting 18 month secondment opportunity has arisen for an experienced Clerical Officer, Personal/Executive Assistant, Secretary, Administrator or Project Support to further enhance their skills and experience within a project environment by undertaking a new fixed term Project Support Officer role to support delivery of the South West Wales Regional Pathology Programme. We are looking for someone who has the energy, enthusiasm and commitment to support the ARCH Programme Management Office (PMO) and work with all partners to support delivery of the programme’s projects/work streams.
The Regional Pathology Project Support Officer is a critical role in the PMO, responsible to the Regional Pathology Service Planning Manager, for delivering service transformation work across South West Wales. Working with clinical teams to deliver defined projects on a regional basis and in line with Health Boards clinical and annual plans.
This post offers flexible/agile working via a hybrid of home/office working. Applications are encouraged from individuals who have related experience or are working within the health sector and looking to develop their experience of working in a project environment at regional level.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Working as part of the ARCH Team, the post holder will provide administrative and project support for the South West Wales Regional Pathology Project across Swansea Bay Bay and Hywel Dda University Health Board regions; they will support the management of more complex or sensitive projects by managing or assisting with elements of them on behalf of more senior team members.
The post holder will be required to support, facilitate and monitor the progress of projects, service improvement or change management initiatives, documenting and reporting progress/issues to more senior staff. Working as part of the project team they will also be required to provide support, training and guidance to other staff.
The Regional Pathology Project Support Officer will also be responsible for ensuring that procedures and documentation required for the projects or improvements are developed / implemented and that programme policies are adhered to. The post holder will also support the Service Planning Manager to ensure that standard project management methodologies are applied to progress and successfully deliver the project.
