**About you**

To be successful in this role you will have a logical, task orientated and an analytical approach to dealing with situations and be able to think through a problem by weighing the pros and cons. As a great communicator you will possess the ability to collaborate in and manage bespoke projects and work independently, as well as within a small team.

With a relevant degree, you will need to possess a high standard of written and verbal communication skills, be a confident public presenter and have proven negotiation and influencing skills. You will have the flexibility and freedom to drive forward your own bovine TB related policy areas and make a difference to the lives and businesses of our farming members.

To be successful in this role you will have an thorough knowledge of bovine TB and its effects on farm businesses as well as a good understanding of the livestock sector, Rural Affairs and national Government agency and political dynamics. We need somebody who has proven decision making skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and act with diplomacy and tact. The ability to work well under pressure and prioritise a diverse workload is essential.

The role will require occasional working outside of standard hours, therefore flexibility is essential, as is a full driving licence.

**About the role**

An opportunity has arisen in our dedicated Bovine TB Team for an enthusiastic and politically astute individual to be the NFU's Senior bTB Policy Manager, reporting to the Head of TB Delivery.

This is a permanent opportunity providing the strategic leadership and management of the NFU's bovine TB policy activity. In the role you will provide advice to colleagues and members, as well as manage the NFU's bovine TB Advisory Groupto ensure the NFU's organisational objectives and strategic aim to eradicate bovine TB are incorporated into bovine TB policy development and lobbying.
