**Job Title**: Site Accountant

**Location**: Stockton-on-Tees

**Package**: up to £40,000 pa DOE + Private Healthcare and other exceptional benefits

**Employment Opportunity**: 12 month Fixed Term Contract

**Overview of the role**:
To provide Site Accounting services for the Site Director and Production Managers. The main features include: Preparation of budgets and forecasts, reporting, administration and control of the companies accounting systems and line management of AccountingAssistants.

**Key Responsibilities are but not limited to**:

- Assist the site management through financial expertise and judgement backed up by accurate and reliable financial data.
- Provide appropriate regular and ad hoc reports to the Site Director, Finance Manager and manufacturing area management, ensuring that reports are complete, accurate and timely, so that manufacturing management can make informed decisions.
- As requested by the Site Director, Finance Manager, manufacturing managers or on own initiative, carry out investigations into trends and variances in the manufacturing area’s financials; report back to appropriate managers.
- Plan, co-ordinate and compile site information for budgets and forecasts for the manufacturing areas, as part of the production of the sites financial reports.
- Work with the finance team and other functions to ensure that use of the SAP system is optimised, specifically in the areas of materials and production accounting, including developing models to enhance the process records activity.
- Ensure timely and accurate standard costs are entered into SAP to enable accurate variance calculations. Review all financial data within the site SAP system to highlight variances, costs or errors within the system.
- Monitor all revenue and capital projects from pre-sanction, through work-in-progress to beneficial operation and project closure. This includes working with plant management on regularly updated spend forecasts.
- Monitor the stocks of raw materials, intermediates and finished products throughout the site. Investigate and resolve any difference from SAP to physical. Liaise with external auditors on stock figures.
- Monitor the stocks of site engineering spares, complete regular reviews of engineering spares value and update to impairment provision.
- The job holder should expect to assist the Finance Manager to perform their duties if the need arises. In due course, it would be expected that the job holder would deputise for the Finance Manager when necessary.

**To be considered for this fantastic opportunity you will have**:

- Demonstrable Accounting experience ideally within a large blue chip organisation
- CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualification
- Extensive experience of SAP or another ERP system
- The capability to work to tight deadlines whilst maintaining a high level of thoroughness and attention to detail
- The ability to prioritisation your own work
- Strong Excel skills
