We are looking for a **Technical Admin** for a **12 -month contract** based in **Bristol **on behalf of our globally respected client who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet’s vital power needs.
**As a Technical Admin you will be responsible for**:
Primary task:
- In accordance with priority, obtain part drawings from various sources (Teamcenter, Optegra) for the list of parts for a particular engine.
- Run part drawings through a Software Tool to identify the applicable Material Specifications.
- Complete the Material Specification pro-forma (excel) to upload those parts into the Substance in Parts (SiP) database.
- Submit pro-forma to central REACh Team to ensure Database is updated.
- Where part drawings cannot be found, investigate other sources of where they could be stored - work with the Rolls-Royce teams to identify where they could be stored.
- Cross check pre-mapped specs against drawings & required format documents, submitting pro-forma to correct database records where applicable
- Use Specs and Drawings to assess parts for substances identified by the database
- Regularly present the status of progress to supervisor (Design Engineer) and Team Lead (Manager)
Secondary task:
- Sanitise Bill of Materials / Master Parts Lists for engines to ensure what’s loaded onto the REACh Database is accurate and reflects a parts list for that engine.
- Use as-built data to add unrecorded programmes and products to the database.
- Liaise with supervisor to understand wider support required from interfacing functions (Materials).
- Answering ad-hoc REACH based queries from programmes
**Key skills**:
- Knowledge of Parts Lists / Bills of Materials / Master Parts List
- Experience of reading engineering drawings (but not essential)
- General understanding of engineering and / or Gas Turbines and sub-systems
- Well organised and self-motivated with good interpersonal skills to be able to communicate
- Pro-activeness and initiative essential
- Working independently where necessary
- Ability to work and communicate across various functions of the Defence (UK) business
