Previous experience of operating in the Cambridge commercial market is not essential, but an interest or willingness to be involved in the life science sector would be beneficial, alongside traditional office leasing. The Cambridge office, located opposite the central train station, offers a full range of commercial services to clients, which includes Valuations, Building Surveying and Property Management as well as Commercial Agency. The Agency business operates across all the main commercial sectors, including offices / labs, industrial, retail, investment, and alternative sectors such as student housing. The team also provides commercial development advice as part of the wider agency function.

**MAIN TASKS**
- Act as the first point of call for all office / laboratory / life science / mid-tech leasing inquiries for the Cambridge office and to take responsibility for leading on existing letting instructions and generating new leads and instructions
- Build up relationships with both existing and new clients of the business and provide market leading advice to secure transactions for clients
- Promote Carter Jonas’s activity in the commercial leasing market in Cambridge through both traditional and social media, as well as attending relevant market events
- Assist the Head of Cambridge Commercial Agency with managing the existing portfolio of work and providing advice on new instructions coming through the pipeline, as well as occupational advice to underwrite investment transactions
- Provide input into the team’s business plan to ensure the leasing activity is adequately represented and promoted alongside the more established investment business
- Contribution to the growth of the business by immersing themselves in the local market identifying and developing viable fee earning opportunities which will benefit their immediate team and the wider Carter Jonas brand
- Identify opportunities to cross sell other CJ business streams through their day to day client interactions and refer that work to the relevant team / office at Carter Jonas
**WHAT IT TAKES TO BE SUCCESSFUL**
The experience surveyor will ideally be MRICS qualified, with a minimum 5 years of previous experience in a similar role. You will ideally have experience of both letting and acquiring space in Grade A office and / or laboratory / mid-tech buildings in one of the major UK markets.
