**Key Responsibilities**
- Identifying and managing conflicts in peer review
- Collating papers for meetings
- Liaising with MRC staff to ensure smooth running of funding meetings
- Attending funding meetings (in person and virtually) to assist with logistics
- Responding to questions from the external research community
- Raising purchase orders
- Managing information and records on the in-house filing system, ensuring that documents are filed correctly and updated as necessary
- Arranging workshops, if required
- Working across Board and Panel teams to ensure all teams meet their objectives
- Carrying out other administrative duties, as required
- Potentially supporting peer review calls that need to deliver funding at a fast pace e.g. Covid funding

Close working relationships will be required with:

- Applicants for MRC funding
- Peer reviewers and those who select peer reviewers
- MRC staff, including:

- Board and Panel Management teams
- Research Funding and Policy Delivery team
- Heads of Themes and Programme Managers within the Board/Panel teams
- Board, Panel and Project Committee members
- UKRI staff

**About you
**Essential
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational skills and experience of managing multiple activities
- Good prioritization skills and confident working to tight deadlines
- Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, with a range of colleagues and external contacts
- Good interpersonal and collaborative skills
- Experience of working independently and as part of a team
- Resilience, able to work in a flexible way and confident in managing change
- Ability to work proactively and using initiative to deliver results
- Adaptable and able to learn processes quickly
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office - including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel
- Excellent literacy and numerical skills - e.g. GCSE Maths and English or equivalent

Desirable
- Knowledge of UKRI and grant processing
- Knowledge of Siebel, Oracle, Zoom and Microsoft Teams
