The role of Team Leader involves much of the day-to-day healthcare requirements for the people in our care, but with additional responsibilities too.Your team will be looking to you for leadership, so you’ll be tasked with overseeing, and monitoring the team. If required, you may also need to respond to any emergencies we might have.
Alongside this, you’ll be offering guidance and support to the team. Imagine yourself as a soothing comfort blanket, or even a warm mug of tea, and you’ll get the impression of the type of feelings we’re hoping you’ll convey to your team - a calming, reassuring presence, who’s also great to have onside in an emergency.
You’ll need to be an experienced Team Leader or Health Care Assistant, with a recognised qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent). Alongside this, as part of your responsibilities, you’ll actively contribute to person centred assessments, care planning and reviews, while assisting with medicine administration.
**Role/Job Purpose - Duties will include**:
- Develop and maintain relationships with residents’ families, friends, advocates and neighbours.
- In conjunction with Home Manager/Nurse-in-Charge, establish and regularly review care practice standards in the Home.
- Undertake direct care tasks as necessary together with Health Care Assistants (HCA) to ensure tasks are carried out in an appropriate manner and participate in shift working.
- To provide daily supervision and support to HCAs working with you.
- Contribute to the documentation, care planning and assessment of care needs for residents, the implementation, review and evaluation of resident’s care plans and risk assessments and participation in the development, training and supervision of junior staff.
**Qualifications**:
- Experience is required and the desire and passion to work with vulnerable people needing your care and attention is essential.
- Diploma in Health and Social Care or equivalent NVQ/QCF L3 (or equivalent recognised qualification or experience)
- Experience of working in Neurorehabilitation
