The primary goal of the Team Leader is to cultivate, recruit, and lead a team of cross-cultural workers focused on church planting, ensuring they work cohesively toward a unified vision. This role is pivotal in guiding the team to fulfill Serge’s mission of reaching, renewing, and restoring all people, while embodying servant-leadership principles.

**Responsibilities**:

- Team Cultivation & Recruitment: Identify and recruit new members to the team, ensuring a unified and cohesive vision
- Servant Leadership: Lead by example, remove obstacles, empower team members, and ensure that the team’s spiritual, personal, and professional needs are met
- Vision & Strategy: Maintain and communicate the team’s vision in alignment with Serge’s mission, focusing efforts to reach, renew, and restore the communities and individuals the team serves
- Accountability & Development: Hold team members accountable for their roles and responsibilities while fostering their personal and spiritual growth, as well as oversee the annual evaluation of each missionary and the team as a whole
- Cross-Cultural Ministry: Oversee the team’s interactions with local communities, ensuring that the work remains indigenous and culturally sensitive and promoting Christ-centered relationships with all Christians in the area
- Conflict Resolution: Ensure the team is trained in biblical conflict resolution and manage any disputes that arise within the team or with external organizations
- Communication: Act as the primary liaison between the team and Serge US, providing relevant updates and data
- Team Welfare: Monitor and oversee the spiritual and personal welfare of each team member, also ensuring that team members take regular days off and vacations
- Financial Oversight: Encourage and ensure the healthy stewardship of the team’s financial resources, and supervise the financial support of team members
- Legal Matters: Assist with immigration, visa matters, and other legal issues that may arise, serving as a resource for the team
- Retreats & Spiritual Renewal: Organize regular retreats focused on spiritual renewal, planning, and refreshment for the team; be a core member of the church plant, giving of oneself in faithful service to the flourishing of the local church

Requirements and Critical Qualities:

- Strong Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and mentor cross-cultural teams in challenging environments
- Servant Heart: A deep commitment to servant leadership, putting the needs of the team and mission above personal interests
- Cross-Cultural Experience: Previous experience working in a cross-cultural setting, with a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities this brings
- Spiritual Maturity: A deep, personal relationship with Christ, with the ability to guide others in their spiritual journey
- Readiness for Challenges & Opportunities: This role requires a dynamic individual who can navigate the complexities of leading a diverse team in a cross-cultural environment. The Team Leader must be prepared to make difficult decisions, sometimes setting aside personal ministry interests to serve the team effectively. The opportunity to witness the growth of the local church and the impact of the team’s work provides immense personal and spiritual fulfillment.

Support Raising:

- The person in this role raises their full financial support for salary, ministry expenses, and benefits.
When you are appointed to go with Serge, you are assigned a support coach who will guide you step-by-step through the entire support-raising process.
