Our client provides education to students aged 4 - 16. Learning is delivered with a balanced & rounded approach of academic, pastoral & spiritual development. The school opened its doors in 2019 and are now operating their 3rd academic year. They form part of the South West hub delivered by a large, forward-thinking academy trust. This is a school that has steadily shown improvement through student attainment and staff development since its' inception.

This role of Student Welfare Officer will hold responsibility for pastoral duties which are key to a childs' wellbeing whilst at school. As an expanding school they have a forward-thinking approach and are keen to appoint the ideal person in order to enhance their students time at school.

The successful applicant will be responsible for, but not limited to:

- student attendance data monitoring & admin
- student data report writing
- parent meetings & liaison
- multi agency meetings & liaison
- senior leader liaison & reporting
- create & administer intervention strategies
- foster partner links with outside agencies and other education settings

A full job description is available for applicants that satisfy the initial pre-screening process.

This role is absolutely open to those with pastoral and wellbeing experience having previously worked in an education (or very similar) setting. Ideally you will have held a previous post as an Educational Welfare Officer at a Local Authority or similar Student Welfare Officer role at another school. Naturally, given the nature of the role, you are expected to have a sound understanding of and be able to demonstrate previous experience of working in a child-welfare orientated environment.

Led by an approachable headteacher, welcoming colleagues and set in beautiful surroundings with period buildings, this really is a fantastic all-round opportunity for an able & passionate teacher looking to deliver a high standard of education. Future development opportunities would likely be available within the trust as they grow & develop. The school has good transport links by road, rail & bus. there is also abundant free parking onsite.

The school is recruiting for someone to join the team on a permanent basis and is open to the approach in engaging the successful applicant. This could be via Elementa trial contract (12 weeks / 60 days trial) or directly on a permanent contract from the outset. Either way, the salary would be at the agreed permanent equivalent from the outset.

All applicants will be promptly responded to.
