**Rate: £38.00 - £40.00 per hour (40 hours p/w)**
**Hours: 9am-6pm**
Our client is looking for a skilled Stakeholder Engagement Associate Manager with experience in government, the non-profit sector, or academia to join their Content Policy Stakeholder Engagement team. Content Policy is the team that creates policies to governwhat people can share and how advertisers and third-party developers interact with the site.
The Stakeholder Engagement team leads the efforts to solicit external expertise to inform the company’s policies.
As Stakeholder Engagement Associate Manager, you will be responsible for understanding the landscape of civil society organizations, Internet-related advocacy groups, academics, think tanks, and governmental organizations.
- You will help develop a strategy for engaging with these thought leaders in relation to content policies.
- You will monitor external relationships in key policy areas and will seek opportunities to build collaborative partnerships with stakeholders.
- You will work with regional NGOs and thought leaders to provide education on content and advertising policies.
- You will be responsible for understanding the company’s apps business priorities, and for helping the team integrate external feedback to serve the company and the people who use our client’s services.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Engage with Internet-related advocacy groups, academics, think tanks, and governmental and non-governmental organizations regarding the company’s Community Standards, Advertising Policies, and related content policies.
- Co-create engagement strategies with advocacy groups, academics, think tanks, and governmental and non-organizations about the content policies, including Community Standards, Advertising Policies and Product Policies.
- Identify key stakeholders and strategic opportunities for external engagement concerning these policies.
- Work with other members of the Content Policy team to improve the company policies based on external expertise and input.
- Build and maintain external relationships in key content policy areas and seek opportunities to develop collaborative partnerships with stakeholders.
- Provide support and facilitate learning opportunities and collaborations with external experts.
- Support in developing tools and metrics for measuring the impact of inclusive external engagements.
- Support Content Policy and other relevant cross-functional teams in undertaking external engagements.
- Represent the company’s Content Policy team in external engagements.
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**:
- 5+ years of experience in a public policy field with a specific focus on Africa or the African diaspora.
- Bachelor’s Degree in public policy, political science, international relations, law, business, human rights, media and communications, information sciences or a related field.
- Experience working with governmental or non-governmental organizations relating to policy issues.
- Experience with project management.
- Experience with establishing processes and metrics to measure policy initiatives.
- Experience articulating policy positions in external settings.
- Experience prioritizing projects and interacting with different levels, both internally and externally.
- Willingness to travel (when company travel resumes)
- Fluency in French.
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Post-graduate degree in public policy, political science, law, business, human rights, media and communications, information sciences or a related field.
- Experience in collaboration between technology companies and the civil society sector.
- Experience building stakeholder engagement initiatives.
- Fluency in other regional languages.
