Job Description

We're seeking a proactive and relationship-driven Stakeholder Engagement Executive to support our corporate affairs team in managing critical relationships across government, industry and internal stakeholders. You'll play a key role in positioning Navantia UK as an integral part of the UK's defence and maritime industrial base, while ensuring effective internal engagement across our four yards.

Key Responsibilities

Government & External Relations (40%)


• Support engagement with UK Government departments (MOD, DBT, DESNZ, DfT)


• Coordinate relationships with devolved governments and local authorities across our sites


• Monitor and respond to parliamentary consultations and government policy developments


• Maintain stakeholder mapping and intelligence gathering across the political landscape


• Prepare briefing materials for ministerial and MP visits


• Track relevant Select Committee inquiries and support submission preparation

Industry & Partnership Management (30%)


• Develop relationships with key trade associations (Maritime UK, ADS, SMI, RenewableUK)


• Identify and manage participation in member association opportunities, initiatives and working groups


• Coordinate company involvement in industry events, committees and collaborative programmes

Internal Stakeholder Coordination (20%)


• Organise and coordinate town hall meetings across our four yards


• Support CEO and senior leadership engagement events (breakfasts, roundtables)


• Manage internal stakeholder communications and feedback mechanisms


• Coordinate workforce briefings and management forums


• Support employee representative consultations and engagement

Strategic Communications Support (10%)


• Develop stakeholder newsletters and targeted communications


• Support strategic messaging for different stakeholder audiences


• Assist with VIP visit coordination and event management


• Maintain stakeholder database and engagement tracking


• Contribute to corporate affairs reporting and metrics

Qualifications

Core Skills


• Understanding of UK government structures and parliamentary processes


• Ability to manage multiple stakeholder relationships with professionalism and discretion


• Strong written and verbal communication skills


• Organisational and project coordination capabilities


• Ability to handle sensitive political and commercial information


• Familiarity with stakeholder mapping and intelligence gathering


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite

Desirable (but not essential)


• Experience in defence, maritime, manufacturing or energy sectors


• Knowledge of UK defence procurement and industrial strategy


• Understanding of devolved government structures


• Experience with consultation responses and policy submissions


• Internal communications experience


• Event management experience


• Professional qualification in public affairs or stakeholder management
