We're currently recruiting for a Business Manager to join our Retail Direct trading channel to lead, shape and implement the strategic and operational priorities of Retail Direct and internal advice to create an exceptional relationship management experience for customers, engage and enable colleagues and deliver the area Business Plan.

**The role**

You with work closely with the Managing Director of Retail Direct and the Leadership team. This is a varied role which provides the opportunity to help shape and execute the Retail Direct strategy. From managing budgets to leading on colleague engagement, this role is perfect for someone that has a wide skillset, strong relationship skills and is delivery focussed.

If you would like to increase your exposure to senior stakeholders while learning all about Retail Direct and wider Pensions and Savings business this role could be for you.

**Key Responsibilities
- Lead, shape and implement the strategic and operational priorities for Retail Direct and internal advice, ensuring these priorities are aligned to and enable delivery of the overall business strategy and channel priorities.
- Utilise external market knowledge and industry insight to inform both thinking and action at all times, maintaining a focus on commerciality and delivery of exceptional customer outcomes.
- Drive process improvement activity to maximise operational efficiency and effectiveness, working in collaboration with colleagues in the extended leadership team to embed consistent process, system and performance improvement.
- Continually assess team capability and the organisational design in respect of the business area's ability to deliver on the strategic and operational priorities.
- Operating as a senior leader in a fast-paced environment whilst consistently performing at a high level and delivering above and beyond the expectations of the role.
- Ability to anticipate challenges and issues where possible before they arise, deciding on an effective course of action both independently and as part of a senior leadership team.
- Building collaborative and effective relationships internally and externally with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels.

**What are we looking for?**

- Strong planning and organisational skills
- Ability to understand and manage budgets
- Skilled in the use of MS Office including Power Point, Word and Excel
- Knowledge of the Retail Direct pension market
- Education - Undergraduate Degree (or equivalent)
