Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation in Glasgow and Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Business Manager for a contract until September 2026 on a rate of £30- £35/Hour PAYE This role will be hybrid based.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain effective business management systems, encompassing performance reporting, business planning, and risk management for audit delivery business groups. This includes overseeing accurate and timely performance data and reporting on audit delivery, budgets, resource use, and audit quality to support decision making within leadership teams and the Board.

  • Support engagement and development of future work programmes, including scheduling key meetings, obtaining strategic input, and monitoring programme delivery.

  • Assist and represent business group leadership teams, including contributing to key corporate forums around performance and information management

  • Establish and maintain arrangements to ensure compliance with key corporate policies, procedures, and standards.

  • Support the development and implementation of new resourcing processes and management information systems.

  • Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and enhanced sharing of audit intelligence, such as arrangements that add value and increase audit impact.

  • Actively contribute to the development of a new Performance Management framework, shaping a unified, transparent, and outcomes focused approach to corporate performance management.

  • Collaborate with colleagues and leadership to establish a vision where performance is measured by both quantitative metrics and the quality, impact, and efficiency of audit delivery, aligned with strategic objectives.

  • Gather and analyse performance data to inform decision-making and enhance reporting accuracy.

  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement to ensure the framework reflects organisational priorities and fosters buy-in across teams.

  • Participate in the design of processes and reporting tools that support timely, informed decisions and continuous improvement.

  • Champion best practices and support the integration of new management information systems to drive accountability and empower teams.

  • Support the embedding of a culture of excellence, learning, and innovation throughout the delivery business groups.

Essential Skills:

  • Proven experience of working in a complex environment in a corporate strategy or lead business management role engaging with senior management.

  • Proven experience of developing, implementing and maintaining performance reporting, business planning and risk management systems.

  • Excellent data analysis skills and the ability to present complex information in a clear and balanced manner, with accuracy and conciseness.

  • Ability to develop effective relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation with strong emotional intelligence, deploying a different approach when necessary.

Desirable Skills:

  • Educated to degree level and / or have other relevant professional qualifications.
