**Main Duties of the Job**

You will be responsible for managing the TaaS Development team and liaising with the DTP from initial concept to end product and future support including:
- implementation, integration, testing, debugging and support.
- interpreting business requirements and producing robust technical specifications.
- setting and meeting realistic expectations for delivery.
- ensuring the development process is documented and continuously improved in line with industry best practice and the changing needs of the team via appropriate selection of emerging tools and technologies.
- improving resource utilisation via process and system automation using tools such as Cucumber, Jira etc.
- liaising with the Security Director to ensure safety requirements are met.
- attending the Obsolescence Management workshops to ensure the toolset remains current.
- writing software release notes/documentation.
- assisting the support team with support issues where your experience is required to find the most appropriate resolution which meets with our customer service level agreements.
- investigating, analysing, reviewing/auditing code and documenting reported defects in order to remedy them.
- undertaking or delegating maintenance programming and correction of identified defects.
- integrating the software with systems developed by others.
- ensuring that all actions you and your direct line reports take comply with all relevant legislation in force e.g. software licencing, confidentiality, diversity and equality, data protection, consumer credit act etc.
- actively managing the team including recruitment, probation and performance reviews in line with the required timescales.

**PERSON SPECIFICATION**

The person appointed should be able to demonstrate:
- proven project management skills: being proactive and highly organised, with excellent time management and planning skills. Together with sound commercial awareness, understanding of business logic and ability to interpret customer needs to form robusttechnical specification documents;
- successful experience using a range of technologies including:

- JavaScript, AJAX
- Vaadin/GWT
- JPA, e.g. EclipseLink, Hibernate
- Spring MVC
- HTML5, CSS, Sass
- XML
- SQL scripting
- MS SQL Server
- Apache Tomcat, IIS
- Azure cloud deployment
