**Your Responsibilities**

You will lead Switchee’s Data team and will have responsibility for:

- The data science that provides actionable insight to the social landlords and tenants that Switchee supports
- The data architecture and infrastructure that enables both the production data science and exploration of the data
- Identification of external/industry data sets to support our analytics and insights offerings, engaging with partners as appropriate to integrate this data within our data platform
- Leading and growing our team of data scientists and analysts

You will work closely with the Product team to define the roadmap, the Cloud team to deliver Production infrastructure and data models, and the Devices team regarding the raw data received from the many Switchee IoT devices in the field. You will also work closely with our commercial teams and our customers themselves, to understand the challenges that our clients face and to help them get the most out of our data. You will report into the Head of Product Engineering.

Switchee operates a small, close-knit team with a big job to do so you'll be expected to roll-up your sleeves and get stuck in

**Who You Are**

Required experience:

- Minimum 5 years commercial data science experience, including min. 1 year leading a data science or data engineering team
- 2+ years experience designing, deploying and maintaining data pipelines and cloud infrastructure for real time analytics, ML and data warehousing in a production environment, including projects you led technically.
- You have worked closely with data users on solving concrete business problems
- Experience coaching and developing others and cultivating an inquisitive and motivated team

Desirable:

- Master's/PhD or equivalent in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics or similar quantitative discipline
- Experience with IoT devices and sensor data
- Experience selecting and managing business intelligence platforms (e.g. Tableau, Looker, PowerBI)
Knowledge of thermodynamic modelling, energy and sustainability data
- Understanding of GDPR and privacy and experience managing data governance
- Familiarity with the Social Housing sector and the challenges faced there
- Experience designing and deploying data science / ML solutions on AWS (including Kinesis, Athena, Glue, Sagemaker, Redshift)
- Experience working in a scaling startup with a high performance culture
- Experience presenting research at conferences and events

These are ideal but not required - we will happily consider applicants who we believe can successfully grow into the role, even if they are not 100% qualified.
