**Job summary**:
We are currently recruiting for a **Data Analytics & BI Lead **on a remote basis. This role manages a specialist team and works alongside the Data BAU & Support Lead and Data Delivery Lead. The aim of which is to develop, lead and implement the data strategy and overall solution within the development of a world-leading multi-species livestock information service and support it, as new data sources are absorbed to create future value add services.

We are looking for a capable senior leader, adept in delivering **data analytics & BI**, as well as assuring and governing data outcomes. A track record of delivering data analytics services in a modern data platform **Azure **environment is also essential and a background of working within government or agriculture would also be preferred.

Established in 2019, Livestock Information Ltd has an ambition to enable a more sustainable and competitive meat and livestock sector through its single, modern, and efficient traceability service. The service aims to eventually replace three existing livestock movement services in England and become an important national tool to better control endemic livestock diseases.

Working in partnership with both industry and government, Livestock Information Ltd successfully launched its sheep, goat and deer movement service and livestock identification service earlier this year. Livestock Information Ltd is a data led organisation and is taking a new approach to capturing and unlocking data to drive positive changes in livestock productivity and sustainability.

This position is available as either a **secondment opportunity** or on a **permanent basis. **Both options are Home Based, with occasional travel for meetings.

**Job description**:

- Supports to develop and implement the LI Ltd and LIP strategy for collecting, keeping, sharing and exploiting data
- Leads and manages a team of data professionals and works closely with colleagues across the company, programme and industry to achieve the right balance of data protection and data exploitation
- Ensures LI Ltd data is fit for purpose, complies with data protection law and the company’s ethical ambition, providing useful insights
- Develops and directs the roadmap for LIS data analytics & BI services, and oversight of delivery, ensuring live products are supported and maintained
- Leads and takes overall responsibility for analytics & BI on top of LI’s Azure modern data platform, ensuring resilience and future proofed technology
- Sets direction for and leads the data team, ensures it has the resources it needs
- Ensures LI Ltd is compliant with data protection law and its commitment to wider protection and transparency
- Builds and develops the capabilities necessary to deliver, including resources and architecture
- Delivers data insights and analytics services inside and outside the company
- Provides expert advice on data issues to senior management, the board, and owning organisations
- Builds strong relationships on data issues across relevant government and industry organisations
- Oversight of knowledge and information management in LI Ltd
- Drive the delivery of organisation Data Governance and Management

**Person specification**:

- Capable senior leader, ideally with experience of working in government, agricultural sector or the livestock industry
- Experienced in leading data analytics & BI, as well as assuring and governing data outcomes
- Relevant experience implementing an analytics & BI data strategy, preferably in context of complex data landscape spanning several organisations
- A track record of delivering data analytics services in a modern data platform Azure environment, with expertise in Tableau in conjunction with Azure
- Excellent experience of data governance and management organisation wide
- Confident communication and influencing skills, well versed on industry best practice and data trends
- Able to create and maintain relationships across diverse organisations in public and private sectors
- Fluent awareness of data protection issues and concerns
- Experience of placing and managing contracts, leveraging data services in the market
