Conwy County Borough Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced **Business Support Officer** to join its **Childcare & Fostering Team** on a fixed-term contract. This position is a critical role within the council's Integrated Adult and Community Services department, providing high-quality administrative and business support to various Social Care teams.
**Key Duties and Responsibilities**:
- **Administrative Support**:
- Deliver professional administrative support to Social Care teams, specifically Fostering, Looked After Children, Family Support & Intervention, and Safeguarding services.
- Manage general office duties, including document preparation, typing, filing, and record maintenance.
- **Minute-Taking**:
- Attend and accurately minute sensitive and complex meetings, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.
- Distribute minutes and follow up on actions in a timely manner.
- **Emotional Resilience**:
- **Communication & Coordination**:
- Act as a point of contact in the absence of the line manager, ensuring smooth communication and issue resolution.
- Respond to enquiries from internal and external stakeholders efficiently.
- **Organisational Support**:
- Coordinate appointments, schedules, and diaries for team members.
- Assist in organising team activities, training sessions, and events as required.
- **Problem-Solving & Planning**:
- Use strong organisational and planning skills to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Support the team in identifying and resolving administrative or operational challenges.
- **Team Collaboration**:
- Work effectively as part of a team, promoting teamwork and maintaining a positive working environment.
- Provide support to colleagues and foster professional working relationships.
**Skills and Qualifications Required**:
- Good standard of education (5 GCSEs or equivalent).
- Proficiency in technology and software, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong typing and active listening skills.
- Excellent organisational, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
**Assignment Details**:
- **Start Date**: 06/01/2025
- **End Date**: 28/03/2025
- **Working Hours**: 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00)
- **Location**: Office-based at Coed Pella, Colwyn Bay
- **Contract Type**: Fixed-term, approximately 12 weeks

Pay: From £12.38 per hour
