Graduate Bid Writer

Pennington Choices is looking for a trainee bid writer for our asbestos business stream. Reporting to the Bid Manager, the role is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking to work within a small friendly team, develop their skills and have a real impact on the future success of the company.

This is very much a starting position for someone with ambition to progress within the company and develop their bid writing and bid management skills and also to learn about compliance within the asbestos industry.

The appointed trainee bid writer will work closely with our Head of Asbestos and the team based in both Warrington and Bromley to complete bids and there will be some travel involved. (Our Warrington offices are located away from central transport links so you will be to have a full driving licence and be a car owner.)

We are looking for someone with keen attention to detail and creativity with excellent writing skills. You will be customer focused and be able to work with individuals at all levels of the business to collate bid information, this will require you to work with composure and resilience, establishing strong relationships with peers and senior colleagues. If you can demonstrate these attributes will work with you to develop your technical and functional skills as a bid writer.

Detailed breakdown of responsibilities, includes:
**Bid writing**
- Writing case studies for inclusion in bids.
- Writing CVs for inclusion in bids.
- Writing specific responses for bid submissions in line with Pennington Choice's brand and quality standards.

**Bid library**
- Ensuring all general information, for example company information, insurance details, accreditations etc are kept up to date within the library and reviewing and updating documents on expiry in PQQ folder
- Adding new case studies and reviewing and improving existing case studies
- Adding new CVs and reviewing and improving existing CVs
- Adding new responses once bids have been submitted
- Being innovative in ways to manage bid library and working with bid manager to continuously improve this function.

**Bid management**
- Attending kick off meetings, inputting into the win strategy
- Producing presentation materials using Indesign.
- Conducting customer research and competitor analysis in developing win strategies and bid plans.
- Updating the CRM database.

**Admin**
- Downloading, logging and distributing bid documents in absence of marketing assistant.
- Ensuring go/no go decisions are taken within three days in absence of marketing assistant.
- Updating bid calendar.
- Downloading and circulating tender clarifications.

**Other**
- Business writing for other department as required and agreed with bid manager.
