Summary We have an ambitious objective to restore and establish carbon-rich habitats including the establishment of 20 million trees by 2030. The Peak District will be a key site in the supporting the delivery of this ambition, working with our tenantsand partners, to establish sustainable new areas of woodland, wood pasture, hedgerows, and natural regeneration.
In the last ten years we have planted over 250,000 trees with hundreds of hectares of clough woodland established.

What it's like to work here You’ll be based within our internal NT consultancy and will work closely with a variety of regional colleagues; you’ll be embedded within the Peak District Property Team supporting the delivery of the Peak District Vision. With hybridmeans you’ll combine working at our beautiful places, being out and about on site with working from home.
Partnership and collaborative working are at the heart of the Peak District vision and ways of working. You’ll need to uphold good working relationships with a wide range on external and internal stakeholders.
What you'll be doing This is initially a three-year opportunity to lead our work on Tree and Woodland establishment in the Peak District. Your priorities will be:
- Working with the Land and Nature Delivery Lead, Estate Manager, Land Use and Farm Adviser and Tenants to agree sustainable Whole Farm Plans that support the delivery of our ambitions.
- Developing site-specific design and delivery plans including securing the necessary statutory consents through the Woodland Creation Planning Grant.
- Working with our partners to engage, collaborate and support them in the delivery of our tree ambitions.
- Identify funding opportunities that will deliver our tress and woodland ambition.
Who we're looking for To be successful in this role you'll need:
- Experience of successfully delivering complex end to end project/programme management, including defining resources, leading procurement securing project teams and matrix management across multiple projects/programmes
- A recognised project (AMP PMQ/Prince) or programme management (MSP) qualification or a commitment to gain whilst in role.
- Evidence of ongoing CPD in your career to date
- Excellent problem solving and influencing skills, able to confidently work with senior leaders
- Experience of managing complex external stakeholder relationships
- Experience of managing Natural Environment Projects with woodland experience and an understanding of the complexities of landscape management advantageous.
