Hope Valley, United Kingdom National Trust Full time

The National Trust has been awarded funding by Farming in Protected Landscapes to deliver an inspirational educational programme for our tenant farmers in the Peak District.

This programme will support and empower our tenant farmers through training, workshops, farm visits and roundtables to create thriving farm businesses that deliver ecological restoration and produce high-quality sustainable food.

You will be at the heart of this programme and play a key role in its success.

Your contractual location will be High Peak, however there will be an opportunity to explore and agree a hybrid working arrangement which strike the right balance for you and the Trust.

What it's like to work here:The National Trust team at the Peak District are passionate about the work we do for both people and planet. It’s an exciting time to join us as we are stepping up our plans for nature recovery and will be working from moor-top to valley bottom to deliver for climate and nature.

You’ll join a creative, supportive and hard-working land and nature team who consistently deliver large-scale habitat restoration and cultural heritage projects. You’ll report directly to the Land and Nature Delivery Manager who leads on tenant engagement and support.

The programme includes all National Trust tenants across the Peak District from the High Peak, Longshaw and White Peak so regular travel will be required for events and farm visits. There will be out of hours working with some evening events. Flexible working is supported with the hours arranged to best suit you and/or the project’s needs.

What you'll be doing:As Farm Project Co-ordinator, you’ll help organise inspirational farm visits and workshops for farmers. This includes supporting the Land & Nature Delivery Manager to create a programme of events throughout the year, booking expert speakers, liaising with farms who are doing great work for nature, organising catering and managing attendance. You’ll then attend the events to make sure they all run smoothly.

This programme is exclusive to National Trust tenant farmers in the Peak District, so you’ll need excellent communication, persuasion and diplomacy skills to build relationships with local farmers to promote the events. From enjoying a cup of tea with a farmer to liaising with partners, you’ll be comfortable and confident in any setting.

You’ll also help with essential project administration such as, measuring its impact, data entry, reporting, invoicing and basic budget management.

Who we're looking forWe would love to hear from you if you have:

- A farming background and/or extensive farming knowledge
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including influencing and some public presentation experience
- Strong people skills, enabling good working relationships
- Superb organisational and planning skills
