Personal Care Assistant / Support Worker required to assist an elderly gentleman with multiple long term health conditions and mobility difficulties, living with his wife, in Airdrie.

Requirements for position
- The role requires close personal contact with an individual who is extremely vulnerable to the risk of infection and disease transmission. It is therefore essential that applicants have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19._
- Must be fully up to date with Covid 19 vaccinations (proof of vaccine history will be required).
- Non smoker
- Hold a full, clean, UK driving license, with own car

Driver essential as you will occasionally be required to use your own vehicle as part of your role. (mileage allowance will be paid.)
- Experience of working in a caring role - a patient, caring and reliable nature is essential.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

You would be required to provide one to one care and assistance within the home environment and on occasions out with the home. The role includes attending to personal care needs, providing motivational support, supporting the individuals to get outside occasionally, companionship and also completing light household duties.

Your duties would involve assisting with tasks such as:

- Attending to or supporting with personal care needs (washing, dressing, showering, toileting including bowel movements, shaving) as required.
- Assisting with medication
- Preparing teas/ coffees and light snacks
- Encourage and provide support for Walking and moving to promote general exercise
- Moving and assisting
- General House Work
- Providing supervision and guidance to ensure safety
- Encourage and support the individual occasionally to get outside to the garden, for a walk or a very occasional run in the car.

Always take the needs and wishes of the gentleman and his wife into consideration in order to best meet required care needs.

Have a warm and friendly nature and a desire to work within a caring role.

**Total of 17.5 Hours per week over 2 positions (with a degree of flexibility)**

**Job Type**: Part-time

Part-time hours: 2 positions, hours can be discussed at interview

**Salary**: £15.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
