**LHP ACCOUNTANTS HR Officer**
**Location **Based in our Carmarthen Office with occasional travel to other locations in S Wales
**Brief Description **Responsible for providing a comprehensive generalist HR service to the Directors, managers and employees across LHP offices in South Wales. You will take the lead on day-to-day operational HR, and provide assistance to the Directors and outsourced specialists on more complex HR matters.
**Duties and Responsibilities **The HR Officer will focus on:
**HR Administration**
- Managing and maintaining electronic and physical HR records to ensure the accuracy and integrity of employee data.
- Supporting day-to-day HR matters and providing HR advice to line managers, individuals and teams across the organisation.
- Preparing HR documents and letters such as job descriptions, probation letters, contract variations and resignation acknowledgements.
- Preparing for HR meetings and note-taking.
- Maintaining data to ensure compliance with UK GDPR.
- Carrying out audits of HR data to ensure that any gaps are addressed in a timely manner.
- Managing performance management records and ensuring that probationary reviews and appraisals are carried out as required.
- Monitoring attendance records and calculating holiday entitlement.
- Drafting HR policies and procedures.
- Maintaining and updating the staff handbook.
**Recruitment and Onboarding**
- Preparing job descriptions and drafting recruitment advertisements.
- Liaising with recruitment agencies.
- Assisting with short-listing and overseeing the recruitment time-line.
- Making arrangements for interviews and preparing paperwork for the interview panel.
- Drawing up offers of employment and written contracts of employment.
- Liaising with schools, colleges and universities to ensure the correct paperwork is in place for students on work experience, work placements or training contracts.
**Employee Relations**
- Dealing with HR issues, concerns or queries and ensuring that they are

recorded and actioned as appropriate.
- Preparing letters and monitoring timelines for formal HR processes such as disciplinaries, grievances, probationary reviews, performance management and absence management.
- Supporting the absence management process, keeping in touch with employees, arranging internal meetings, making referrals to occupational health and managing access to medical records.
- Contributing to a culture which embraces equality, diversity and inclusion, employee engagement and workplace wellbeing.
- Manage the effective internal communication of all people and HR related matters.
**General**
- Managing own workload and calendar to meet priorities.
- Keeping up to date with changes in employment law and how these affect
HR policies and processes within the organisation.
- Liaising with outsourced HR and employment law providers as required to ensure compliance with HR law and best practice.
- Attending external HR networking and employment law update events.
**Other**
- Performing any other duties that may be deemed necessary to ensure the effective running of the business
**Skills and Qualifications Essential**:
- Good working knowledge of employment law and HR best practice
- Strong verbal and written communications skills and able to interact with people at all levels
- Ability to understand the needs of employees and of the business
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work and decision make under pressure
- UK driving licence
**Desirable**:
- CIPD qualified or part qualified
- Experience of providing HR services in a professional office environment
- Ability to speak Welsh
**Quality Ability to deliver a professional service in line with HR best practice**
- Identify training needs for yourself
- Provide input on improving processes/efficiencies.
- Actively engage in suggesting improvements relating to quality, processes and performance to drive the business forward

**Hours of Work **21 to 24 hours per week, to be agreed.
**Rate of Pay **£24,000 per annum, pro rata
