We require a Team Leader for the Strategy and Performance Team supporting our Children and Young People’s Service. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a highly respected team, responsible for providing analytical and performance support to a high performing service.
The team play a crucial role in the continuous improvement of children’s services locally, by providing performance challenge and evidence-based analysis, to support leaders in driving performance improvement to achieve value for money and better outcomes. The team also co-ordinates corporate and strategic planning, to ensure strategy, spend and service delivery is maximised and meets the needs of the Council’s customers.
The post offers an exciting and challenging career opportunity for the right person with the right experience. Your main duties will be:
- To lead a team of strategy and performance officers ensuring clear oversight, understanding and joined up working for strategy and performance in the directorate
- To understand the breadth and needs of customers of the strategy and performance functions in the directorate
- To ensure the delivery of the strategy and performance functions in the directorate, in particular ensuring that all delivery is to a high standard, effective, efficient and within budget
- To support the scoping, design and delivery of continuous improvement
- Collating of data and transforming it to intelligence
- Report writing and presentation to senior leadership and external partners
- Significant experience of providing strategic support to Local Authority, or similar services
- Well-developed analytical skills
- Ability to present complex information to a range of audiences, both written and verbal
- Able to complete tasks within tight timescales
- Flexibility with working hours, potentially including some weekends.
