**THE ROLE**
We are looking for an experienced Senior Bid Writer to join our growing team in the Succeed division.
You will be a self-starter with the ability to take the lead in writing bids/grants and proposals from start to finish across both the Public and Private sector. You will ensure that each individual client is presented in the best possible light.
You are to coach and support a team of up to 4 Bid Writing staff and will ensure your team’s KPIs are achieved.
**THE RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Support an on-site team of Junior/Bid Writers through daily coaching and assisting Management with team KPI reviews quarterly
- Support clients through bid development and general bid management processes
- Work alongside Bid/Quality Managers to review bid content created primarily by other bid/junior writers and assure that high quality is constantly achieved in larger/more complex bids across the wider team
- Monitoring and recording new client workloads and operational workloads from your dedicated team daily, ensuring this is effectively updated for the Head of the department
- Effectively lead complex workloads including - client-delivered training, bids/projects, and bids with high contract value (in excess of £5m p/a)
- Research and analyse bid specifications and tender documents thoroughly for a range of industries and clientele
- Plan the bid in conjunction with the client and other members of the bid team
- Consult on, identify, and include win themes for each bid project, whilst understanding your clients solution/service offering
- Extract information from clients in a clear and concise way, challenging clients where necessary on a consultative level to ensure the most advanced service offering is made
- Write compelling content and encourage the creation of aligned dynamic visuals, using our in-house Creative Design Team
- Gather technical data & supporting documentation from relevant client departments and translate the material for the evaluator within your bid responses
- Help translate technical content / data, so it is clear to the evaluation team whilst maintaining technical accuracy
- Project manage larger bids, assigning bid questions to other writers and oversee other written narrative
**THE EXPECTATIONS**
You will be able to evidence the following requirements:
- Impeccable attention to detail
- Demonstrable experience of supervising staff performance (ideally in an on-site bid team)
- Showcase a demonstrable bid win rate
- An efficient and capable project manager and writer with excellent literacy skills, and an extensive vocabulary
- Highly motivated, energetic, and astute with your own workloads and that of your wider teams
- Thrive in a busy/demanding role, where deadlines are critical for each bid
- Communicate with Management level staff both internally at Hudson and external client businesses
- Experienced Bid Writer and/or Proposal Writer with a minimum 2 years’ experience in public sector bidding
- Excellent communicator, both verbal and written
- Deadline driven
- Ability to multitask and prioritise workload
- Excellent bid reviewer and critical proof-reader
- Ability to grasp and understand multiple businesses, their services, products, processes, and industries
- Ability to lead brainstorming sessions to ensure maximum results for client bids
- Ability to produce error-free work
- Have an advanced knowledge of the terminology used in the world of bidding and procurement.
