**Job overview**:
Longspee Primary is a specialist provision for young people KS1-2 with Autism and SEMH, with the majority of our current pupils having their main need in the area of Autism. We offer a rich and high-quality learning experience for our pupils, with a relentless and positive focus upon Happy, Safe, Progress. We are looking to employ an enthusiastic, skilled and experienced HLTA to support vulnerable learners.

As a person, to thrive in this role you will be happily resourceful and creative, highly resilient and able to work well as a member of a successful team. You will work closely with the Inclusion Lead and be required to lead the delivery of specific learning objectives and activities, to support the complex needs of pupils, and to deliver lessons during teacher absence and PPA cover.

You will also be able to relate well with (and understand) others, demonstrating highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, and have a good sense of positive humour. In addition, you will be able to show the understanding that success at Longspee Primary is achieved by developing the excellence and independence of others. If you have experience, skills, interests, or an area of knowledge that you will inspire others with, then we would love to work with your enthusiasm in this area to support our vulnerable learners.

The focus of the role is to support the pupils’ learning, wellbeing and ensuring positive behaviour for learning, along with maintaining the classroom environment to a high standard. We recognise the value of effective teamwork and the HLTA would be very much part of both our Class Teams and the wider Whole School team.

The daily working hours are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 8.30 am - 4.15 pm, Thursday 8.30 am - 4.00 pm; Friday 8.30 am - 3.15 pm.

Longspee Academy is a 46 PAN- pupil school which currently has 42 students. Longspee Primary joined Ambitions Academy Trust in 2013 and educates Boys and Girls aged between 5 and 12 in Key Stages 1-3. Longspee Academy provides a personalised education tailored to meet the needs of its pupils.
