Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Teach South are proudly supporting a fantastic Alternative Provision in Poole who are looking for a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team on a full-time basis.
The Role:
As an HLTA, you will:
- Oversee small classes of pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs) and Autism
- Deliver and support learning activities planned by the teacher – and occasionally plan lessons yourself
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils who may have had disrupted or negative experiences of education
- Use de-escalation, patience and empathy to support pupils through challenging moments
- Work closely with teachers, pastoral staff and external professionals to ensure each pupil's needs are met
What We're Looking For:
- An experienced HLTA or an experienced Teaching Assistant ready to step up
- Confident managing behaviour and supporting pupils with SEMH and Autism
- Calm, resilient and emotionally robust
- Able to build rapport quickly and maintain clear, consistent boundaries
- Committed to helping young people re-engage with learning and reach their potential
