Teach South are proudly supporting a fantastic Alternative Provision in Poole who are looking for a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team on a full-time basis.

The Role:

As an HLTA, you will:

  • Oversee small classes of pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs) and Autism
  • Deliver and support learning activities planned by the teacher – and occasionally plan lessons yourself
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils who may have had disrupted or negative experiences of education
  • Use de-escalation, patience and empathy to support pupils through challenging moments
  • Work closely with teachers, pastoral staff and external professionals to ensure each pupil's needs are met

What We're Looking For:

  • An experienced HLTA or an experienced Teaching Assistant ready to step up
  • Confident managing behaviour and supporting pupils with SEMH and Autism
  • Calm, resilient and emotionally robust
  • Able to build rapport quickly and maintain clear, consistent boundaries
  • Committed to helping young people re-engage with learning and reach their potential
