**About the department**:Investments Technology Services forms part of the Operations division within abrdn. Its key function is to provide global technology services that, when combined with the intellectual capital within abrdn, create value for our clients. It achieves this by developing and maintaining a technology strategy and architecture that is aligned to the company’s operating model, and designed in such a way to enable the implementation of business strategy. Investments Technology Solutions also contains the capabilities necessary to execute against that strategy, to provide robust and appropriate solutions. All of this is achieved within a context of positive assurance ensuring activities are conducted in line with standards, policies and commercial targets.
**About the role**:This lead role sits within the Data Engineering (Enterprise Solutions) area of Investments Technology Solutions and is aligned closely to the Investment business. It is part of the business fabric dealing with a wide range of stakeholders within the ITS department and the wider abrdn Operations team. The role holder is accountable for ensuring Data Services delivers high quality technology solutions; managing their development projects effectively through each stage of the software development lifecycle and ensure successful implementation in line with agreed customer requirements.
Look for opportunities to create business value from optimal use of existing, or new innovative, technologies. Use industry awareness, industry contacts and the insight of peers and colleagues to influence abrdn’s technology direction.
Create and nurture long-term relationships (both stakeholders and managed services).
The role may also include people management and/or technical leadership.
**Skills and Experience**:
- Hands-on experience of Power Designer or similar
- Experience and/or awareness of Database Design and Dimensional modelling, Data Warehouse structures
- Experience of working in an Investment/Asset Management environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good problem solving and analytical skills
