As an Assistant Practitioner (Band 4) the post holder is expected to independently manage their own work and case load, undertaking tasks delegated by a registered practitioner with appropriate supervision in place. Having an understanding of evidence based practice and delivering care in line with current evidence, the post holder will take responsibility for taking action relative to an individual’s health and care in accordance with organisational policy and procedures.

The post holder will work with and alongside the Lymphoedema Community Clinical Educator, support them in the training and development of support staff within the community and wound care services, ensuring efficient effective management of chronic oedema and wet legs within the Primary care settings.

The post holder will be responsible for some elements of assessment, implementing programmes of care and modifying individualised care plans, reporting back to the registered practitioner. They may delegate work to other assistant staff and will be expected to supervise, teach and assess specific tasks such as Multi-Layer Lymphoedema Bandaging.
