Control Room Operator

**_Responsible for: _**
Operating the efficient and safe running of our control room service which includes the monitoring of CCTV across several different locations 24/7. The service will involve aiding the public in the use of the machinery and the car park generally. You are required to be courteous at all times, wear full company uniform, and are expected to be well-informed on the car park details (e.g. tariffs, opening hours, spaces available etc).

- To support Britannia Parking with a 24-hour operation services with the management and liaison of a professional Control Room operation.
- Abide by Control Room Policies and Processes.
- To provide support as far as is reasonably practicable, in the protection of Site/Company assets from the effects of fire, accidental or malicious loss or damage and unauthorised removal.
- Monitoring of CCTV system and images and reacting accordingly for non-planned events.
- Ensure all data requests are recorded in line with policy and digital evidence gathering techniques.
- Maintain close links with regional Police forces.

- Operating the efficient and safe running of our varied operations throughout the UK, including the operation and monitoring of CCTV.
- Maintains a safe operating environment with full regard to Health & Safety responsibilities.
- Ensure that visitors and contractors to the Control Room
- Are checked in and issued with an appropriate access pass.
- Are not allowed to enter the Control Room unannounced.
- Are aware of what actions to take in the event of an emergency.
- Provide telephone support service during and outside of normal working hours.
- Operate intercoms that are linked to sites for customer support.
- Contact police if deemed necessary.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service through resolving customer issues and reporting any actions to the Control Room Supervisor/Management Team.
- Raise any concerns to the Control Room Supervisor.
- Maintain a professional appearance at all times, in line with company standards.
- Carry out additional administration duties as required by other aspects of the business.
- Communicate diplomatically and sometimes discreetly, on operational matters, with all team members and other personnel involved in security matters.
- Attend and contribute to team meetings and briefings that enhance the control room operation and team working.

You must be able to work using your own initiative and be able to always provide a professional and approachable point of contact for all customers and clients whilst carrying out your duties. You will ensure that your personal appearance meets the standards expected by the company and the client, always.
- Essential experience, skills and abilities:
- Excellent customer service skills and experience working in a customer focussed environment.
- Excellent communication skills with people at all levels, both verbal & written, with the ability to provide clear advice to customers.
- Ability to work accurately under pressure within set guidelines and procedures, remaining calm and polite in situations of conflict.
- Ability to work under own initiative and be a self-motivator.
- Awareness of Health and Safety and the importance to adhere to safety rules and regulations.
- Excellent telephone manner
- Good understanding of computer-based scheduling software
- Awareness of Building Management Systems (BMS)
**Desirable experience, skills and abilities**:
- Sound knowledge of Security techniques.
- Good understanding and ability to use computer systems in operation within a Control Room.
- Good understanding of the CCTV system in operation.
- Experience working in a similar role in a control room.
- Experience operating and monitoring CCTV and car park systems.
- Full driving licence with access to a vehicle that can be used for business purposes.
