Your new role

National Highways is currently recruiting for an Internal Communications Channel Manager to join the Human Resources directorate.

You will work in collaboration with the team of Internal Communication Business Partners, to provide effective planning and measurement of internal communication to ensure successful execution and delivery of internal channel strategy and corporate campaigns.Further to this, you will lead and mentor a team of Senior Internal Communication Advisors to steer projects through their lifecycles to deliver innovative communication solutions.

This role will involve some travel to engage with and support your stakeholders as required, including regular travel to Birmingham.

Key Responsibilities

- Own and lead on the development and management of Internal communication channels - intranet, Team Brief, Update, Yammer etc working closely with the directorate(s) communication plan and IC Business Partners to ensure that communication is effectivelyplanned and delivers measurable outcomes.
- Lead and co-ordinate internal communication planning including measuring the effectiveness of our current channels, to help the team make informed decisions on how to best deliver their campaigns and messages
- Events and senior leadership meetings - planning, management and co-ordination of senior leadership conference and meetings. Advising on effective solutions to deliver objectives and align to business priorities
- Manage a team of Senior Internal Communication Advisors.
To Be Successful
- Extensive experience in internal communication ideally within a large organisation.
- Demonstrable experience in delivering communication strategies and detailed communication plans.
- Evidence of strong leadership and mentoring skills.
- Experience of working across multiple teams with multiple stakeholders and, where necessary, lead teams of SMEs to provide intel and content.
