Our Opportunity:
We are currently recruiting for a **Senior **Managing Environmental Fate and Behaviour Specialist **for our **Chemical Regulation and Food Safety** Practice in Harrogate (UK), Edinburgh (UK), Nottingham (UK), Mannheim (DE), or Basel (Switzerland) offices. Home working may also be considered. In this role, you will work as part of a team to provide high level technical and strategic regulatory consultancy services to internal and external clients as well as undertaking some staff management.
You will be responsible for:
- Conducting environmental exposure assessments for European regulatory submissions of plant protection products
- Providing strategic scientific advice to clients on European regulatory environmental fate/environmental exposure issues
- Summarising and interpreting environmental fate data
- Monitoring environmental fate studies on behalf of clients
- Ensuring that projects are delivered to high standards, on time and within agreed budget
- Line management and training and developing more junior members of the environmental fate and behaviour team
- Identifying potential new business opportunities for Exponent and marketing own and Exponent’s expertise through the development of successful client relationships.
You will have the following skills and qualifications:
- MSc or PhD in chemistry, biology or a closely related field together with extensive knowledge of, and experience working in, the European regulatory framework relating to plant protection products.
- An awareness of the evolution of future regulatory policy especially in Europe.
- A recognized authority in, and a proven track record of, successful environmental exposure regulatory submissions for pesticides in the EU
- Excellent written and communications skills. Demonstrable ability to present, justify and defend positions relating to regulatory environmental fate and behaviour and environmental exposure assessments.
- Experience of problem solving gained in a relevant industry.
- Successful execution of multiple ongoing projects. Adaptability to changing scope of those projects and delivery to high quality standards, on time and within agreed budget.
- Line management experience and a demonstrable ability to train and develop more junior members of the environmental fate and behaviour team.
- Demonstrable ability to identify potential new business opportunities for Exponent and to market own and Exponent’s expertise through the development of successful client relationships.
- Experience of conducting environmental exposure assessments for European regulatory submissions of biocidal products and/ or experience of performing or monitoring environmental fate studies would be an advantage
