Group Financial Accountant

This role will be varied and interesting as you will be interacting with the different companies in the group and will also be involved in future acquisitions.

Don’t worry if you do not have all the experience below - we are looking for someone with an audit background or similar group reporting background, who is keen to learn and progress in their career.

Job spec:

- Preparation of monthly management accounts for holding companies
- Co-ordination and oversight of group external audits, planning, closing meetings
- Prepare consolidation schedules for the group
- Prepare the group financial statements (all disclosures) with assistance from the group financial controller
- Help establish, monitor and maintain accounting policies in adherence with IFRS (in particular IFRS16)
- Local GAAP to IFRS adjustments (In particular IFRS16 and IAS38 - goodwill and R&D)
- Preparation of appropriate disclosures (full ownership in UK and Luxembourg, support / co-ordinate with local controllers in other geographies)
- Oversight of company secretarial duties (service is outsourced)
- Maintaining statutory to management account reconciliations.
- Assist with financial reporting for the group (board pack)
- Maintain the FX rates
- Assist in the group tax planning, including transfer pricing and tax compliance

Essential skills and experience:

- Qualified ACA / ACCA with management experience in a medium to large accountancy firm.
- Strong accounting skills and technical knowledge on financial reporting matters including the ability to work from first principles.
- Very good working knowledge of UK GAAP / IFRS
- IT literate, ideally with some experience of accounting packages and very good excel spreadsheet skills.
- Highly professional attitude to leading a quality service on challenging assignments in a deadline driven environment, demonstrating flexibility in changing client environments.
- Self-motivated with strong communication skills (written and oral).
- Proactive and able to identify opportunities for business development.
