The Head of Construction Equipment (Operations Manager) job itself where you will Take overall management and commercial responsibility for the plant hire business. More specifically:

- Encourage continuous improvement in work practices and solutions, increasing added value and sharing best practice methods.
- Commercial responsibility for contracts & invoicing.
- Maximise value and control costs, cutting the overall spend with parts/consumables and making it more profitable/economical/efficient by building relationships with different suppliers.
- Develop and deliver a growth strategy for the business including a long-term plan for operating centres.
- Explore building up service teams rather than relying on other suppliers (if more efficient and more economical for the business).
- Maximise profits whilst achieving agreed utilisation rates (80%+ overall utilisation).
- Maximise business development opportunities with current and future clients.
- Focus on building long-term relationships with clients.
- Managing and overseeing the department and all team members.
- Recruit and develop the team as and when required.
- Reporting on financial performance to Directors

Work Schedule: 45 hours per week, 08.00 to 17.00 from Monday to Friday with 30 mins paid lunch.

**You will have**

To be successful as Head of Construction Equipment (Operations Manager), you will be in experienced operations manager, general manager, plant manager with a healthy mix of the following:

- Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibility for £Multi-M company or business unit
- Supervisory management positions with a relationship-building leadership style
- Experience managing assets especially in construction equipment/plant hire sectors
- Strong client account management skills, possibly from business development role
- Willingness to go the extra mile for internal and external customers
