Business Intelligence Data Visualisation Lead

**The Role**
We are looking for a Business Intelligence Data Visualisation Lead to design and build solutions to help leaders from across our organisation make evidence-based decisions. You will be part of a dynamic and driven internal cultural transformation team who are leading the organisation’s efforts to become more data-driven, customer-centric, flexible, and adaptive. We’re looking for someone who thinks creatively and gets excited by using their experience to shape and influence our organisation’s data & BI maturity.
**Key responsibilities**
- As a BI data visualisation lead, you will collect, organise, and study a broad spectrum of data types to provide business insight. In this role, you’ll work with BI Analysts and business colleagues to:
- summarise and present data and conclusions in the most appropriate format for users
- identify, collect, and migrate data to and from a range of systems
- manipulate and link different data sets
- manage, clean, abstract, and aggregate data alongside a range of analytical studies on that data
**Skills needed for this role are**
- **Data visualisation skills**. You know how to use the most appropriate medium to visualise data, to tell compelling and actionable stories relevant for business goals. You can present, communicate, and disseminate data appropriately and with high impact.
- ** Innovation and entrepreneurship skills**. You actively build empathy with your customers, understanding what their goals and needs are. You use this understanding to develop and create solutions, which you test and iterate based on customer feedback.
- ** Communication skills**. You know how to listen to the needs of the technical and business stakeholders and explain them to each other. You can manage stakeholders’ expectations. You are flexible and capable of proactive and reactive communication. You know how to facilitate difficult discussions within your team or with diverse senior stakeholders. - **Data management**. You understand data governance and how it works in relation to other organisational governance structures. You can participate in or deliver the assurance of a service. (Relevant skill level: practitioner)
- **Data modelling, data cleansing, and data enrichment skills**. You can produce data models and understand where to use different types of data models. You understand different tools and can compare between different data models. You can reverse-engineer a data model from a live system. You understand industry-recognised data-modelling patterns and standards. (Relevant skill level: practitioner)
- **Logical and creative thinking skills**. You can ensure that the most appropriate actions are taken to resolve problems as they occur. You can coordinate teams to resolve problems and implement solutions and preventative measures. (Relevant skill level: practitioner)
- **Quality assurance, validation and data linkage abilities**. You can set up a system to get data ready for use and specify how data should be cleansed and prepared. You can bring data together from different sources and communicate the limitations of data. You know how to peer-review colleagues’ outputs to ensure quality. (Relevant skill level: practitioner)
**About You**
- Attitude: We are looking for a self-starter, someone who can think creatively to solve ambiguous uncertain problems.
- Hybrid working: Our team is living the hybrid experience, so we are happy for you to deliver in the way that works best for you and the team, and the working pattern that allows you to thrive. This role will allow you to spend some of your time working from home or an official workspace, but attendance at an office will also be required, we think the split will be roughly 50/50 once you are established in the role, we will empower and trust you to work in a distributed fashion.

**Rewards and Benefits**
You’ll receive a starting salary of £46,385 - £51,710 dependent on skills, experience, and job role (package includes basic salary and concessionary payment), plus other benefits including:
- 25 Days Annual Leave automatically rising to 30 days after 5 years' service, and an additional 10.5 days
