**Operational and Strategic Support**
- Working closely with professional services and academic staff with responsibilities in teaching to provide operational and strategic support for the School’s programmes of study
- To provide support for all quality assurance-related work, to ensuring standards of service to meet the needs and requirements of students, staff and professional bodies.
- To work effectively with the Education Manager, Education Operations Manager and academic staff with key responsibilities in teaching to agree levels of service, ensuring processes are fit for purpose and activities appropriately resourced to maximise the effective delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate taught teaching in the School to high standards.
- To supervise day to day management of student records ensuring maintenance of accurate and reliable student records.
- To oversee the marketing, recruitment, admissions and enrolment process.
- To liaise with the College and University central teams, obtaining a good working knowledge of the University systems, ensuring the School’s compliance with University procedures relating to teaching.
- To act as a co-ordinator for information relating to teaching from the College and University central teams to the School staff and likewise co-ordinating information relating to teaching collated by the School to the College/University central teams.
- To oversee and service committees (as required) which are relevant to the role such as Board of Studies, Student Staff Panel, Examination Boards and Teaching Plenaries to be determined from time to time by the School Manager.
- To produce programme documentation such as timetables and programme handbooks.

**Examinations/Academic Regulations**
- To act as lead contact for examination liaison and take responsibility for the administration relating to the School’s examinations including servicing the Examination Boards calling on a thorough understanding of University Academic Regulations.
- To have involvement in the nomination of external examiners for undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes through the University Registry

**Management**
- Work closely with the Education Manager, Education Operations Manager and Education Officer to manage the operation of the Education team planning, organising and delegating work, monitoring progress and intervening as required
- To deputise for the Education Manager and Education Operations Manager and provide support and cover to other team members
- Manage the performance, induction and development of team members
- Support and guide team members in welfare issues, escalating as necessary to specialist support areas
- Ensure the delivery of the operational and strategic teaching aims of the School and the team’s service level agreements, adapting these according to changes in workload and customer requirements
- Collaborate with others in order to make recommendations for the development of established processes and procedures
- Undertake the training of others in areas relating to the team’s work
- Undergo personal and professional development that is appropriate to and which will enhance performance
- Establish working relationships with key contacts to help improve service levels
- Gather and analyse data to inform management decisions, establishing basic trends and patterns in data and creating reports as appropriate

**Evidencing Criteria**:
- **Essential Criteria**
- NVQ 3/A-Levels or equivalent.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders using a high level of written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with self-confidence and with an ability to initiate and propose developments within your area of responsibility.
- Experience of supervising a team with experience of managing the work of others and dealing with performance and welfare issues
- Evidence of ability to explore customers’ needs and adapt the service accordingly to ensure a quality service is delivered.
- Ability to set up standard office systems and procedures and make improvements, as appropriate.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritise conflicting demands and act on own initiative.
- Ability to demonstrate excellent IT skills including the ability to extract management/statistical information from databases/excel and reporting software.
- Proven literacy skills and ability to participate actively in planning processes including drafting and preparing policy and planning documents.
- Evidence of ability to solve expansive problems using initiative and creativity; identifying and proposing practical solutions and resolving problems with range of potential outcomes
