Senior Scientist

On behalf of our client, a leading global company supporting the discovery and development of novel therapeutics, we are looking for a Senior Infection Biologist to contribute to the prevention of serious and life-threatening illnesses arising from bacteria,fungi and viruses. This dynamic, high-performing and friendly _in vivo_ pharmacology team is growing to support PK/PD studies in a range of disease areas across multiple integrated drug development projects.
With project leadership responsibility you will be closely involved in the inception, design and delivery of pre-clinical studies, interacting with clients around the world to ensure timely delivery of projects within budget.

**Basic Requirements**:
- Relevant PhD with several years of postdoctoral experience or good industrial experience
- Proven strong project leadership skills
- Experience working in a containment level 2 laboratory is essential, as is working experience in viruses, bacteria, or fungi
- Demonstrable experience with _in vivo_ PK/PD models
- Experience in the infectious disease therapeutic area, in particular _in vivo_ pharmacology including PK/PD relationships of anti-infective drugs is highly advantageous
- Familiarity with small molecule drug discovery and development with additional experience in peptide and/or biologic drugs is beneficial
- Highly adaptive and able to work effectively in a fast-moving and high growth environment.
- Exceptional communication skills at all levels, internally and externally
- Impressive time management and organisational abilities
- Current home office personal licence is desirable
- Experience working in a CRO environment is beneficial.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Leadership of the client and internal projects through planning, execution, and reporting phases with strong emphasis on customer service
- Quality control of data, preparation of formal reports for clients, and presentation of data at conferences to customers
- Interacting with clients and prospective clients
- Assist business development activities through technical presentations, client discussions, proposal drafting and costing.
