Technical Account Manager / Solutions Architect (Principal / Director) - Manchester/Macclesfield A rapidly scaling Scientific AI company, backed by leading investors and trusted by global top-100 pharma, is redefining how scientific data is centralised, integrated and transformed into AI-ready assets. Their platform powers R&D, QC, CMC and manufacturing workflows across the life sciences, serving as the connective tissue in some of the world's most complex scientific data ecosystems.
We are seeking a Technical Account Manager — effectively a Principal Scientific Solutions Architect — to join the EMEA team. This is a senior, strategic, and highly customer-facing role at the intersection of science, data architecture, and commercial value. You will partner with major pharma organisations to accelerate their scientific data centralisation and AI-readiness initiatives, operating across large enterprise environments with multi-technology stacks already in place.
You will act as the primary technical leader across strategic enterprise accounts, combining scientific domain expertise, architectural depth, and commercial instincts. You will guide global pharma clients through complex data transformations, influence account growth and increase ROI, and deliver high-value outcomes across the entire customer lifecycle.
Partner with senior scientific, R&D IT, and data leadership to understand enterprise-level data environments, integration layers, and architectural constraints
Lead technical strategy, presales engagements, solution mapping, RFP responses, and hands-on demonstrations across multiple scientific domains
Drive adoption and long-term success through regular reviews, roadmap alignment, and proactive technical guidance
Identify new use cases, expansion opportunities, and cross-functional value drivers within customer accounts
Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Project teams to secure resources, communicate technical needs, and influence solution direction
Navigate complex scientific ecosystems, ensuring data from diverse instruments, systems and workflows is harmonised, centralised, and AI-ready
Act as a trusted advisor across the entire customer journey — from presales architecture to post-deployment optimisation
A scientific background — PhD/MSc or extensive experience in large pharma/biotech environments
Strong domain literacy across Preclinical, R&D, QC, CMC or Manufacturing environments
A deep understanding of how scientific data is generated, used, analysed and automated across enterprise workflows
Technical proficiency in data architecture, data pipelines, cloud stacks, APIs and ideally hands-on Python
Experience operating within complex enterprise data environments — not greenfield — with familiarity across data warehouses, integration layers, and scientific informatics systems
Commercial instincts: able to build relationships, recognise new use cases, support expansions, and influence account strategy
A track record of working closely with scientists, data engineers, and commercial teams to deliver scalable, impactful solutions
This role suits someone who started as a scientist or bioinformatician, moved away from the bench, and built a hybrid career in scientific data, architecture, and customer-facing delivery. Someone who is equally comfortable discussing experimental workflows, reviewing a data pipeline, or advising on commercial expansion.
Influence scientific data strategy at some of the world's most advanced pharma organisations
Work across cutting-edge cloud, data, and AI ecosystems
A senior role with roadmap visibility across Sales, Product, Engineering, and Executive leadership
Hihgly competitive compensation and equity, plus flexibility when not onsite with customers
