We are looking to recruit experienced midwives with an interest in providing Continuity of Care to a caseload of women, The successful applicants will be confident and competent in all aspects of midwifery care.
We currently have two continuity of care teams (Eden and Lotus) which cover a large geographical area, our vision here at KGH is to continue to role out the continuity of care model in line with national guidance, focusing on reducing health inequalities.
‘Eden’ is primarily based in Corby and ‘Lotus’ in Wellingborough and between them they also provide care within the Kettering area.
You will work as a member of the midwifery team, taking responsibility for clients and babies in hospital and at home. At all times adhere to the Nursing and Midwifery Code of Professional Conduct 2015 (NMC). This is primarily a continuity of care post which will involve providing care in all clinical areas. Shift patterns may vary depending on the area and the model of care in place, however flexibility will be required to cover days, nights and participate in an on call rota 7 days per week to ensure continuity of care is achieved. The post holder will be required to have access to a car/transport and ability to travel between locations and provide home visits.
As a Midwife, you will offer individualised, evidence-based care to a diverse group of service users. Your approach will be adaptable to meet the unique needs of each service user, operating independently and flexibly. This model of working allows for a flexibility, improving your work-life balance, as you'll collaborate with colleagues to independently manage your schedules and workloads.
The postholder will be required to work flexibly across all settings, encompassing antenatal, intrapartum, postnatal, and community services, consistently honing skills in all facets of midwifery care. Establishing trustworthy relationships with service users is fundamental, whilst fostering an environment of safety where service users are empowered to make informed decisions and formulate personalised care plans.
