**The team**

Resources and Digital Directorate operates at the very core of the Council's operations, working with Services to deliver the Councils priorities. Exchequer Services offer a robust transactional management service, including income processing, payment of invoices, expenses and allowances and support with debt management. Our Team have detailed knowledge and vast experience of a wide range of key business processes, internal and external financial regulations and relevant costing requirements.

**About the role.**

Gateshead Council is seeking to appoint a Finance Assistant in Exchequer Services. The role will assist the Finance Officer in ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of financial support services in line with council policies, procedures and Financial Regulations.

You must have 5 GCSE passes at Grade 4 or Grade C or above (or equivalent) including English and Maths and experience of supervising employees, working in a financial environment and office-based software packages.
